   Please see below details of the YOPS Annual Concert on Sunday 7th May 2023

All students at the rehearsal on the 5th March 2023 received a note with these Concert details.

Rehearsal on Sunday 2nd April 2023  will be  the final rehearsal before the concert

YOPS Annual Concert Sunday 7th May 2023

Sandford Parish Church , Sandford Road Ranelagh

No food or drinks to be consumed  in the church.

No car park in the church grounds.

The concert will take place at 3.00 pm

Tickets Donation  €5 adults paid at door.

Junior orchestra should be at the church for 2.15 pm to get seating arranged.

 Senior Orchestra members should be at the church at 1.30 pm

Dear Parent/Guardian/ YOPS member, 

We hope you have had an enjoyable break over the summer.

As September approaches we look forward to welcoming you to the new term ahead and with that in mind have attached a list of our rehearsal and concert dates so you can pencil them into your diaries.

I am  delighted to confirm that  the YOPs Orchestra will still  be based in Beechwood Parish Community Centre , Mountain View Road , Ranelagh.  .

It would be very helpful if you could confirm by email  before Saturday 3rd September 2022 if you plan to return to YOPS this year. This will help us in our plans and preparations

 Rehearsal Times for each orchestra:

YOPS Senior Orchestra rehearsal at 9.30-11.30 am 

YOPS Junior Orchestra rehearsal  at 12.30 -2.30 pm 

YOPS Music Folders

Students  that returned  their old YOPS music folder will be able to  collect their YOPS folder with the new sheet music from their conductor.

 Any student that did not return their YOPS music folder, must bring it along  to the first rehearsal on Sunday 11th September 2022 hand in last years  sheet music to the conductor and collect the new sheet music for 2022-23. 

Orchestra Membership  Fees

This year’s membership fee is €140 per student and €120 for a second family member. 

Fees must be paid by Sunday 11th  September 2022. Payment can be made directly before that date to the

Dear Parent/Guardian,

We are delighted to let you know that our next rehearsal will be on Sunday 6th February in-person. 

Please Note – 

New Venue: The rehearsal will be held in Beechwood Parish Community Hall.  60 Mountain View Road , Ranelagh D06 TD65 . The venue is just a short 5 min walk from the Beechwood LUAS stop.

Rehearsal Timetable:

Senior YOPS –  9.30am – 11.30am

Junior YOPS  – 12.30pm – 2.15 pm

To ensure staff and students are as safe as possible :

• We are asking that all students adhere to and follow all current Covid19  Guidelines in relation to close contact and isolation
• All Students and Staff will be required to wear facemasks for the duration of rehearsals.
• Hand Sanitisers will be provided on entry/exit.
• Windows will be open in the venue so dress accordingly 
• There will be no refreshment break this term, although students will be given a  5 min toilet break. If any student wishes to bring their own drink or snack they are welcome to.

Rehearsal Requirements:

• All students must bring their own music stand, sheet music and pencil with them. Under health and safety protocols they will not be permitted to share these with any other students.
• New empty folders will be given to students on the day of the 1st rehearsal to place their music in.

Drop-Off/Pick-up : Unfortunately there is no space for parents to wait inside the building, so therefore we would ask that students are dropped off and collected promptly.

We look forward to welcoming everyone back for our first live rehearsal in almost 2 years.

YOPS Senior Orchestra visit to Titanic Belfast

The Senior Orchestra will be traveling to the Titanic in Belfast to perform a concert on Sunday 13^th March 2016. A tour of the Titanic exhibition will follow.

BUS TIMES: The bus will depart from the Church of Ireland College of Education Rathmines at 8am sharp. The Bus is scheduled to arrive back in Rathmines at approximately 7.45 pm.

UNIFORM: The uniform for the concert will be the YOPS hoodie, a long sleeved black blouse with collar/ black shirt, long black trousers and black shoes. All students must arrive in full uniform, with their music stand and music folder. [Students who have ordered YOPS hoodies will be able to collect them on Sunday 7^th for €10.]

COST:  The contribution for each student will be €30 , which will go towards covering the cost of the hire of the bus, the entrance cost to the exhibition and a meal.

Please bring this €30 contribution to rehearsal on Sunday 7^th February 2016 so that we then can book the entrance ticket for the time slot into the exhibition.

Because of the scheduled time of concert and visit to exhibition we will be having our meal later in the day, so it will be necessary for each YOPs member to bring a snack and a drink to have midday!

The IAYO presents the Agnes O’ Kane Award to Kitty Dalligan

On Saturday 8th February, at the 19th Festival of Youth Orchestras Concert in the National Concert Hall, Kitty was presented with the The Irish Association of Youth Orchestras (IAYO) Agnes O’Kane Award by Philip O’Kane, for her work in contributing significantly to the development of young musicians and youth orchestras in Ireland.
